In response to the upcoming Global Positioning (GPS) Week number rollover event on April 6, 2019.
Evertz is providing the following information necessary to ensure that Evertz devices providing UTC timing from GPS based references are running at the latest available versions of firmware on both the GPS Antenna and Master Clock systems.
Any MSC from Evertz on the current firmware versions will not have to worry about GPS rollover until 2024, and with the latest release of firmware, that year changes to 2035. See below for combinations and firmware versions.
5700MSC
All firmware versions are good until 2035
- – Antenna available: Acutime 360 and Bullet
5601MSC
Version 2.9 b4 (released 2017) and newer versions are good until 2035
– Antenna available: Acutime Gold, Acutime 2000, Acutime 360 and Bullet
Version 2.7 b 5 (released 2015) and older versions
– Using Acutime 2000. Good until October 26, 2024
– Using Acutime Gold. Good until September 1, 2029
– Using Acutime GG. Good until October 26, 2024
5600MSC
Version 2.4 b26 (released 2018) good until 2035.
Note: 5600MSC units sold before June 2007 will only operate with the Acutime 2000
Version 2.4 b 23 and older (released 2015)
– Using Acutime 2000. Good until October 26, 2024
– Using Acutime GG. Good until October 26, 2024
